Graph Settings
To change graph settings, click on the "Graph" menu item and select the "Settings" submenu item.
Graph settings apply to all graphs for all filters. The graph settings are not saved in the FIR filter document files.
For the filter frequency response graph, the user can control the units used to display amplitude on the Y-axis of the graph, the units to display the frequency on the X-axis of the graph, and the graph colors used for the filter response, the design response, the text, and the graph background.
There are two-default color schemes that each can be set using buttons that are labeled "Light Mode" and "Dark Mode". Light mode and dark mode are shown below.
Settings changes will only take effect if the "Apply" button is clicked.
The Amplitude radio button controls allow three selections.
- DeciBels - This setting displays the amplitudes of the filter response in DeciBels. This is the preferred setting.
- Power - This setting displays the power levels of the filter response.
- Magnitude - This setting displays the magnitudes of the filter response.
The Frequency Scaling radio button controls allow three selections.
- Fraction of sample rate - This displays each frequency divided by the sample rate, which is a value from 0.0 to 0.5
- Radians - The frequencies are values from 0.0 to Pi.
- Hertz - The frequencies are in cycles per second
Graph Colors
- Filter - The color used to display the calculated frequency response of the FIR filter.
- Design - The color used to display the desired design frequency response of the FIR filter.
- Text - The color for the graph axis lines and graph text.
- Background - The background color for the graph.
